    stock_saluteSIR, NO EXCUSE, SIR!

If you are in the military or a veteran then you know what the subtitle means.  One of the main things drilled into your head during boot camp is there is no excuse.  No matter what the reason for your screw-up, stumble or being late, there is no excuse.  Why is this so important?  Because in battle, if you are late, or make a mistake it is doesn’t matter when someone is injured or dies.  It is little consequence to him/her or their families that your gun misfired either because of a defective gun or the fact you didn’t clean it properly when they’re injured or dead.

The point I’m trying to make is no one cares who or what caused the problem; just fix it and not make it worse.  How many times have you heard we inherited the problems or’ that’s the way it has always been done.  I am sick and tired of hearing the former regime caused the problems.  And I am just as tired of hearing you can’t do anything because the Democrats and the President are leaving the Republicans out of the negotiations.  If you are really a statesman and not just another ‘party’ politician, then you will find a way to talk to your colleges across the aisle.  And when are the Democrats going to learn they don’t work for Reid, Pelosi or Obama?  You work for us!

If you watched the “State of the Union’ address the President couldn’t resist taking a shot at the previous President and Congress to excuse his increases in the deficit and debt.  Unfortunately he forgot to mention in the last two years, the Democrats held the majority in both the House and Senate of which he was a member.   If he had not spent the whole time he was in the Senate campaigning for President then he might have been able to affect some changes.   And just because things have been done a certain way before or everyone else does it, doesn’t mean you have to keep doing it that way.  As my mother used to say, “If Johnny jumped off of the bridge, would you jump off of the bridge?”  I’m sure your parents said something similar.  Obama campaigned that he would change the way business is done but all he did was make excuses why he, Reid and Pelosi made all those sweetheart deals for certain states and the unions to buy votes.

I am fed up with business as usual, and ‘sausage making’.  I’m tired of Chicago style politics.  I’m sick and tired of career politicians.  I’m tired of being ignored by our so called representatives.  And most of all, I’m tired of excuses!  There is NO EXCUSE, SIR!   This country was built on problem solving.  Just look back at our history.

Mr. President, Democrats and Republicans; stop the finger pointing and making excuses why you can’t.  Show us how you can.  Stop the excessive spending.  Get rid of the earmarks.  Balance the budget.  Stop using populist Ideas to pretend you’re trying to fix the problems when actually you’re just pointing blame to hide your incompetence.

Stop the excuses or come election time, you will need more excuses why you lost.
