  • Are you as tired of excuses as I am?

    Twitter It!

    stock_saluteSIR, NO EXCUSE, SIR!

If you are in the military or a veteran then you know what the subtitle means.  One of the main things drilled into your head during boot camp is there is no excuse.  No matter what the reason for your screw-up, stumble or being late, there is no excuse.  Why is this so important?  Because in battle, if you are late, or make a mistake it is doesn’t matter when someone is injured or dies.  It is little consequence to him/her or their families that your gun misfired either because of a defective gun or the fact you didn’t clean it properly when they’re injured or dead.

The point I’m trying to make is no one cares who or what caused the problem; just fix it and not make it worse.  How many times have you heard we inherited the problems or’ that’s the way it has always been done.  I am sick and tired of hearing the former regime caused the problems.  And I am just as tired of hearing you can’t do anything because the Democrats and the President are leaving the Republicans out of the negotiations.  If you are really a statesman and not just another ‘party’ politician, then you will find a way to talk to your colleges across the aisle.  And when are the Democrats going to learn they don’t work for Reid, Pelosi or Obama?  You work for us!

If you watched the “State of the Union’ address the President couldn’t resist taking a shot at the previous President and Congress to excuse his increases in the deficit and debt.  Unfortunately he forgot to mention in the last two years, the Democrats held the majority in both the House and Senate of which he was a member.   If he had not spent the whole time he was in the Senate campaigning for President then he might have been able to affect some changes.   And just because things have been done a certain way before or everyone else does it, doesn’t mean you have to keep doing it that way.  As my mother used to say, “If Johnny jumped off of the bridge, would you jump off of the bridge?”  I’m sure your parents said something similar.  Obama campaigned that he would change the way business is done but all he did was make excuses why he, Reid and Pelosi made all those sweetheart deals for certain states and the unions to buy votes.

I am fed up with business as usual, and ‘sausage making’.  I’m tired of Chicago style politics.  I’m sick and tired of career politicians.  I’m tired of being ignored by our so called representatives.  And most of all, I’m tired of excuses!  There is NO EXCUSE, SIR!   This country was built on problem solving.  Just look back at our history.

Mr. President, Democrats and Republicans; stop the finger pointing and making excuses why you can’t.  Show us how you can.  Stop the excessive spending.  Get rid of the earmarks.  Balance the budget.  Stop using populist Ideas to pretend you’re trying to fix the problems when actually you’re just pointing blame to hide your incompetence.

Stop the excuses or come election time, you will need more excuses why you lost.

How Can Immigration Reform Cure the Nation’s Ills?

Our nation was founded by immigrants and children of immigrants.  We need immigrants for our nation to grow both socially and intellectually.  Every immigrant I have ever met seems astounded by the things we take for granted.  The Mexicans I have met [...]

Now that Scott Brown Wins MA, Is Healthcare Dead? Don’t bet on it.

Yes, I’m glad Scott Brown won the Massachusetts Senator seat, but don’t park the Teaparty Express bus yet. Sen. Brown will be the 41st vote to provide a filibuster to stop healthcare but that doesn’t mean it will stop Obama-Care. If you listen to any of the news you have heard of [...]

I know the final bill hasn’t passed but I guarantee the Democrats and Obama will get something passed before the end of the month.  There are enough Democrats in the House and Senate that they will pass something.  They must pass it soon or their constituents might remember how much they screwed us come [...]

Has Tiger Woods proven endorsements don’t really work?

    Twitter It!

Do endorsements by athletes or famous people really improve sales? Tiger’s recent revelations may provide the proof. There is no doubt; Tiger Woods is/was one of the highest paid celebrities for his endorsements. The immediate cancelation of his endorsements should give a very good benchmark to the marketers whether endorsements still pay.

    DEAR EDITOR:

I am 8 years old. I want to know, is there a god?  My grandmother says, of course there is and his name is Jesus but my mother says she’s not so sure. My next door neighbor says there is no god.  He says god is just a superstition and the universe was [...]

Business as Usual Must Stop! We Don’t Need More Sausage!

An open letter to the Tea Party Movement
A favorite axiom in D.C. is the process of law making is like making sausage, not very pretty. During the discussion of Senator Mary Landrieu’s $300 million bribe, one Democrat’s defending her prostitution said, “That’s just the way laws are made. It’s like making sausage, that’s the way it has always been and that’s the way it always will [...]

    Healthcare, $1.2 Trillion, Senator’s Vote, $100,000,000, Honest Politician…Priceless.

Will $100 million become the standard to purchase a Senator’s vote? Senator Mary Landrieu hasn’t said she would vote for the healthcare bill yet, so will she yield to the temptation of $100,000,000 bribe to her state (LA)? Reid slipped a one time, $100 million grant to certain states that [...]

Is the Constitutionality of Healthcare just another Left wing Diversion?

What would happen if the bill passes but the provision requiring everyone to purchase health insurance is found to be unconstitutional? I’m sure the final bill will include a provision (as is included in almost all legal documents) that if any part of the document is found to be illegal or unconstitutional, only that part of the document will be null and void (or some similar legal speak .) That would mean all the rest of the bill would be in force. What would that do to the bill, whether it has a public option or [...]

Is Healthcare Broken, or Does it Just need A Tune-up?

Yes, healthcare needs a tune-up, not a replacement or complete overhaul. Thank God, It looks like the monstrosity they are calling healthcare reform is not going to pass, but it is a shame also. If Congress had just a bit of common sense, they could ‘tune-up’ healthcare and make it affordable to everyone without bankrupting the [...]
